I have a slow Schmidt-Cassegrain with Alt-Az mount, 235mm F10 scope and use a 6.3 reducer with my CCD camera. I use no guiding and short exposure of less than 100 secs. I discovered StarTools and my photos are now amazing. Thank you StarTools for turning my average photos into amazing ones.
The actual "useful" noise grain, much like dithering, however may be visible when zoomed in at scales beyond 100%.
You are forgiven if, at first glance, you get the impression StarTools offers only the basics.
The Color module is very powerful - offering capabilities surpassing most other software - yet it is simple to use.
You can convert everything you see to a format you find convenient. Give it a try!
